I watch and learn various nail tutorials from both YouTube and TikTok, then practice on my own.

I’m new and entirely self taught ( but would like to get formal training in the future) I watch a lot of videos and am very active in forms that discuss nail art and nail safety. I also like to ask for feedback on my work.

I also like to do a lot of reading to learn about things including nail safety. Anytime I see something in forums or comment sections where viewers and experienced nail techs are divided ( i.e. universal nail lamps), I like to research those claims. It takes a while but I’m an analyst by profession and love diving down rabbit holes to find evidence based answers. Doug Schoon is a prominent chemist in the nail industry right now that I see recommended to follow often. He has written several books and shares his insights online.
My other hobby is resin art. Gel polish and resin have very similar properties. A lot of the science behind the two transfer over.
