8 years ago what started as something I loved doing for fun has turned into a passion that I’ve continued to grow and learn from over the years. The biggest improvement I’ve noticed? Definitely my technique and attention to detail. I’ve gone from simply wanting my nails to look pretty to really understanding shaping, structure, application, nail art, and how all the little details can completely transform a set. Looking back at my old work compared to now, the difference reminds me just how much practice and patience can do! One lesson I’ve learned along the way is you don’t have to be perfect to make progress. Nail artistry is a constant learning process, and every set—whether it turns out amazing or not—is an opportunity to learn something new. It also depends on how well the lamp works with the gel. What really matters? • Wavelength: It needs to match the gel’s curing requirements. • Light coverage: The light should reach the entire nail evenly. • Gel compatibility: Different gels may require different lamps or curing times. I fell in love with nails exactly 1 year ago (Sept 2025), when I saw a cateye video on youtube. Four months later, I decided to go to school to become a nail tech. I graduated August 4th of this year (2026), and I'm now working in my own suite in a salon, and having the time of my life! My art has really improved over the last year, and the biggest lessons I've learned is not to rush, enjoy the process, and to keep my client's nails safe. So,the first pic is Tyler Creator Nails for my sis! I did these in 2024. I was still learning nails. Truthfully Nails takes patience, endurance, & passion! So along the way    You’ll master it! I've been doing nails on and off over the years, but recently I've started getting back into it and taking it more seriously. Looking at these two sets side by side really shows me how much I've grown. My 2021 set was created using full-cover nail tips with a simple coat of nail polish. At the time, I was just enjoying the creative process and learning the basics. Fast forward to 2026, and I've been challenging myself to learn new techniques and new products, such as acrylics, builder gel. For this set, I used builder gel to build the nail structure, created the dot design using a paper clip, and hand-crafted acrylic flowers for the embellishments. The biggest improvement I've noticed is my increase in confidence when approaching new nail designs or techniques. I've become more patient with the process and more willing to experiment with different products and techniques rather than sticking to what I already know. One lesson I've learned along the way is that progress doesn't happen overnight. Every set, whether good or bad, teaches us something new. While I'm incredibly proud of how far I've come, I know I still have a long way to go. That's what makes the journey so exciting. I'm looking forward to continuing to practise, build my skills, invest in better products and tools, and see how much more I can improve in the years ahead. #ThenVsNowChallenge #NailGrowth #NailJourney
