#ThenVsNowChallenge I’m still very new at this, I started doing nails in May of this year 😅 My biggest accomplishment would be that my art and detailing that has grown immensely, going from basic dot work and flat designs to complex, dimensional pieces. Being a stay at home mom with a 2 year old doesn’t really allow you the free time so I’m proud of how much I’ve learned. My biggest lesson would be patience with the process, and not everything is going to be perfect. People enjoy watching the journey of others. I judge my work too much but I should give myself grace because I’m still learning.

My Nail Journey: 💙 I started my nail journey in January of 2021 when I began doing Dip Powder Nails. I loved doing them, but I started to get Dip Flu every time I would do a new manicure. 🩷 Then, in January of 2022, I started doing Polygel nails using dual forms, and I loved the results. By June of 2022, I started applying gel polish over my Polygel nails. ❤️ By 2023, I started doing builder gel nails, and loved the results. Then I started doing Polygel nails and using builder gel to do fills on my nails. I have never looked back. I occasionally will do full coverage tips, but I will always love doing builder gel over my natural nails. It took me awhile to get the hang of it though. I tended to make them very bulky. Now that I have practiced, my technique has gotten so much better, both with e-filing and application of the product. I love my MelodySusie e-file! Lessons Learned: 1) Curing and Allergies: ❤️‍🩹 Ironically, the picture below of the teal glitter nails I had a reaction to a couple days later after I took this picture (you can see my cuticles already getting red).  It made me dig into why it was happening and how to prevent it. I also became more careful with the lamp I used and its compatibility to the product I'm using, the curing times, the ingredients, and good practices to protect my skin. I haven't had any issues ever since. 2) The Nail Community is amazing and a wealth of knowledge 😍: I have learned so much from fellow nail enthusiasts. They have been so helpful and encouraging! 3) Nail Art! 🎨 This has been so fun to add to my nail journey! New brushes, stamping, glitter, it's all been so fun! Looking back at where I started compared to where I am now honestly makes me so proud. I’ve come a long way—not just in the way I do nails, but in the confidence I have in myself. I’ve learned that progress doesn’t happen overnight. I’ve had sets that didn’t turn out the way I wanted, techniques that took countless attempts, and plenty of moments where I wondered if I was actually getting better. But I kept practicing, experimenting, learning, and trying again. The biggest thing my nail journey has taught me is that you don’t have to be perfect to be proud of your progress. Every mistake taught me something, every challenge pushed me further, and every little improvement brought me closer to where I am today. I’m so proud of the girl who started—and even prouder of the nail artist I’m becoming. This is my reminder to never stop learning, never stop creating, and never be afraid to see what I’m capable of. 💗 #ThenVsNowChallenge

I own the rechargeable e file nail drill the one without the pack and I use it all the time along with my plug in melodysusie dust collector and filters. Both make it so much easier and more convenient and comfortable to do my own nails. I also use the milk and honey cuticle oil and the cuticle remover and both are a definite must have for me. My  next investment will most likely be the rechargeable clip on nail drill and a few different polishes too. I love melodysusie , happy birthday melodysusie
