Just a Question: Nail Tech Licensing? 🤔
11 Likes BookmarkShare9 Comments

Hey everyone! I've been reading through some posts and a thought popped into my head: is everyone who calls themselves a nail tech actually licensed? I'm starting to wonder if it's just a trendy label that anyone who does nails uses.

What do you all think? Are there standards we should be aware of, or is this title becoming more about the passion for nails rather than formal qualifications? I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences!

I just call myself a nail lover, even though I'm skilled at it, because I don't have a license

Yeah, I agree. While passion for nails and nail art is commendable, it’s essential to recognize that formal training provides vital knowledge about product safety, sanitation practices, and techniques that can prevent injuries or infections

I totally agree! I think there should be a common understanding in the industry about these titles. Like, I'm basically just an average nail enthusiast. If someone wants to call themselves a nail tech, I feel like they should definitely have a license, just like doctors and lawyers do.

I agree a lot in terms! I’m a nail enthusiast in unlicensed! I post my work people often ask to get services done! I don’t take clients! I’m also self taught! To calling your a nail tech means your completely licensed and have a certificate!

So with my opinion on this matter, I agree you are hearing that term just thrown around a lot unfortunately. And whoever chooses to do that and carry that title that's them I get it maybe it makes them feel better I don't know but, For me I know, Is that I am not a nail technician, I always make that clear in my videos I have been on my Neil journey for 5 years now, And I am self-taught. I don't feel comfortable in representing to be something that I am not. And there is nothing wrong with being on your nail journey learning how to do your nail art and not being a nail technician. The YouTube world has opened up The possibilities now, Is to be enabled to learn and be himself taught. No yes there will be things that you will not know necessarily that you would leas if you were going to nail tech school. And a lot of that is the medical terms and the hygiene cleanliness and how to use Certain Nail tools. That was such a great question thank you so much for asking.💙
